Roles

There are no app managers until an admin chooses them. The person who installs the app is not an admin unless their Slack role makes them one.

Context

Valyu Agent uses:

• The thread: every message, as its memory, up to 200 messages. In a longer thread, it drops the oldest messages in blocks of 50.
• The channel: up to 50 messages before the thread, only when your question needs them.
• Your files: files in your message, and your own files from earlier in the thread when your question is about them.

Other people’s messages are context for Valyu Agent, not instructions to it.

Files

You can attach up to 10 files to one question, with a total of 25 MB. Valyu Agent can search the text of PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CSV, text and Markdown files.

Limits

• Each person can run up to 3 research requests at the same time.
• fast, standard, heavy and max runs work in the background, and Valyu Agent posts the answer when the run ends.
• An instant answer waits up to about 3 minutes. After that, the run keeps going on the Valyu platform.
• A confirm card for a report change works once and expires after 30 minutes.

Data handling

• Valyu Agent does not keep your files. It sends a file to DeepResearch with the request. When it searches a file, it keeps the text for 24 hours, then deletes it.
• The research task gets the end of the thread conversation as background.
• Valyu Agent stores the Valyu API key encrypted.
• In a channel, Valyu Agent sends the full list of scheduled reports only to the person who asked.

Updates

Updates to Valyu Agent reach your workspace automatically. When an update needs a new Slack permission, admins and app managers see Update available at the top of the Home tab. Click Update Valyu and approve the permission once.
